The concept for this story was simple. A creature from Greek mythology with a reputation for eating children needed to find a horror platform. The more people I asked, I soon realized not many people even knew what a lamia is. Though I’ve written about vampires and zombies, witches and demons the lamia was intriguing.
A beautiful seductress propagating the earth like a black widow serpent, killing her mate and raising her daughter to do the same to other prominent men. Cursed by prophesy and eating snatched children to sustain themselves this tribe of lamia hunt one of their own prophesied as the one lamia marking the beginning of a more destructive part of the curse.
Killing a man’s wife and taking his son makes him enter the arena with a vengeance. He hunts them and exposes them. They don’t take this lightly and just as he finds love with a reporter he meets, they seek to take it from him. Who can prevail? What is the cost?
